Many rappers, emcees, poets etc in the music
business claim to be able to freestyle at a moments notice. But given
that opportunity, many fail when it actually pulling through.
Enter Mister Freestyle. One of the best
freestylers ever to touch a microphone. Currently livin' it up on the
West coast, he has blessed many a mixtape all over the globe. "I love
working on remixes the most", Freestyle explains. "It gives me a chance
to vibe and feed off others that are in the studio."
Still unsigned to a major label, through
determination Mister Freestyle has somehow managed to tour with RedMan
and MethodMan (Blackout Tour), Nelly and Eve (TRL Live Tour) He's also
done shows with Da Brat, Ice Cube, Monica, Missey Elliot, Cash Money,
Master P and DMX just to name a few. "Performing in front of 30,000
people is amazing and to know that you're performance is exciting for
them to see is just a benefit of all your hard work" Boasts Mister
Freestyle.
Freestyling is the ability to rap off the top
of your head, whatever comes to mind spit it out but be able to make it
sound good make sense and develop a topic.
The difference between a rapper and an emcee. A
rapper can only do written material, needs background vocals, pretty
much unable to freestyle. An emcee has no problem with a straight beat
to perform the song in front of a crowd or in the studio.
"I feel everyone should be able to freestyle
whether rapper or emcee. mainly my talents come from being a
battle rapper so freestyling is very important to me. Being that the
stage name I go by is Mister Freestyle, its pretty much a daily demand
that I prove myself. I will with out a doubt rap about anything, a
bottle of ketchup, a girl and her hootchie outfit or how fat your mom
is."
Pick a style and most important try to be as
original as possible.
"My style is...Just me. I'm sarcastic, very charismatic. I speak my
mind." Defiantly a trait that is getting me noticed more and more on the
mix tape circuit. The more I speak my mind, the more sarcastic I get
when I freestyle."
Behind every good man is a strong woman... "Ha
Ha or in my case, 20 women" says Freestyle sarcastically. "In the
studio, backstage or just chillin, I love women and they love me. No
dumb love songs, only straight up Pimpin... in life and in lyrics."
